The Beal Rando 8mm rope is a high end glacier walking rope. It weighs only 37 grams per meter so it is really lightweight and small to pack. Still it is a very safe rope and can take a real impact. Because of it's weight this rope is often used for ski-touring around glaciers. The Rando is safely to use as a single rope for snow-routes glacier travel and ski-touring but not for climbing and mountaineering. It is however so to use for climbing and mountaineering when used as a twin rope.
