The Daiwa Saltist MQ Spinning Reels utilize some of Daiwa's most advanced design features to provide ultimately dependable power and performance. Built around a heavy duty aluminum frame for maximum durability, the Saltist MQ implements Daiwa's Monocoque Body (MQ) design for even more power in a more compact frame. A feature brought down from Daiwa's flagship level of spinning reels, Monocoque Body refers to the use of a one-piece frame and reel body.

Saltist LW feature 5 ball bearings (2CRBB+2BB+2RB) for smooth performance and a 6.1:1 or 6.4:1 gear ratio depending on the model. Line per handle turn retrieve rate is 35 or 47.2 inches per rotation while reel weights range from 18.5 to 24 ounces. The series also accommodates impressive line capacities ranging from 12/420 to 40/310 for mono and from 40/260 to 50/630 for Daiwa J-Braid. Max drag runs from 15.4 pounds for size 20 and 30 reels to 20-pounds for size 40 and 50 models.
